Volunteering and Recommended Workplaces

Find ways to gain experience, support communities, and explore organisations that are open to international graduates.

Whether you are looking for an internship, volunteering experience, or short-term opportunity, there are several ways to get started.

Start with Eurodesk

The Eurodesk Opportunity Finder is an easy way to explore opportunities across Czechia and Europe in one place.

You can search for:

  • internships;

  • volunteering projects;

  • youth and mobility programmes; and

  • training and learning opportunities.

It is a useful starting point when you want to compare different kinds of experience.

Volunteering in Czechia and Abroad

Volunteering can be a flexible way to gain experience, build connections and stay engaged after graduation.

European Solidarity Corps (ESC)

The European Solidarity Corps offers structured, full-time volunteering placements. Projects are usually:

  • two to twelve months long;

  • 30 to 38 hours per week; and

  • organised as international or local mobility experiences.

You can take part in Czechia or abroad, for example between Bachelor’s and Master’s studies, after graduation while exploring your next step, or before starting a full-time role.

European Solidarity Corps placements usually include support for travel, accommodation, and living costs.

Flexible & Community-Based Volunteering

For a more flexible option, explore local opportunities with:

  • NGOs and community organisations;

  • cultural and educational projects; and

  • sustainability and environmental initiatives.

These activities can often be combined with work or other commitments.

Support International Student Communities

Organisations such as the Erasmus Student Network connect international students and local university communities.

ESN sections at Czech universities organise:

  • orientation support for incoming students;

  • cultural and social events; and

  • language exchanges and community activities.

As an alum, you may be able to support activities, mentor students, or remain part of the international community.

Explore Recommended Organisations

Alongside opportunity platforms, you can explore organisations recommended by members of the Czechia Alumni community.

These are not current job advertisements. They are organisations where alumni have worked, completed internships, or volunteered, and which may offer valuable early-career experience or be open to international graduates.

Use the list as a starting point, then visit each organisation’s website to check current opportunities.

Help Others Discover Opportunities

Have you had a positive experience with an employer, internship host, or volunteering organisation? Share your recommendation to help other alumni.

You can suggest:

  • an employer;

  • an internship provider; or

  • a volunteering organisation.

Your contribution helps build a trusted, community-led resource.
